Just wondering, what is a used 70-300ED worth?I am being consumed by the lust for a 80-400VR and was wondering what I could hope to offload my barely used couple of month old 70-300ED for?

When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
All the lenses 80-400/ Nikon or Sigma will work with TC, but what for? thought the viewfinder is too dark and you need few floodlights to light up your subjects, with TC, it increase the f. stops Birddog114

Sigma has a 300-800 mm lens, this is on the EFL zoom range
http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses ... avigator=3 Stick on a 2x converter, factor in the multiplier effect, 2400 mm. And you wouldn't need any ND filters Greg - - - - D200 etc

Unlike the 70-300G, I thought the 70-300ED could itself use a teleconverter - that would let you see a lot more of suburbia at a much lower cost!
Any reason why you haven't mentioned this option? I'm also looking at the cheapest way to get some more length - unfortunately, I don't think (from the Sigma site) that my Sigma 70-300 APO can use a teleconverter - happy for anyone else on the forum to let me know I'm wrong! I was therefore thinking about a 70-300ED with a teleconverter. Have also briefly considered the Bigma, but I think it might be a bit too heavy for me to handle well.
