Personally Mic I can’t work out whether you are arty or farty - probably the latter
I feel in all honesty that this has been pushed just a little too far. Or, maybe some selective cloning out might help, for example the dark lines under the eyes Signed with affection from a m@c user Chris

I think it's pretty cool.
 Kind of a solarized or posterized look. I don't think you could have pushed it any further though. It's right at the limit.
The only bit that bothers me is the little spot to the right of his chin. Keep experimenting! Regards from the aging SoCal Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.

 Of course, I generally like abstracts, so I'm easy to please. You might also want to play with leaving a little color in this type shot, like I did with the abstract I posted a few days ago.my gallery of so-so photos

I do agree with SoCal, that hot spot on the chin needs to go.

Looks like the kid has a bizarre looking beard. I'm surprised you didn't go for the curve and invert
