Photo King

Postby W00DY on Wed Mar 16, 2005 8:51 pm

Hi Guys,

Has anyone used these guys (http://www.photoking.com/index.html) to get photos printed out?

I did a search on the forum but nothing came up.

I usually get my prints from Ted's (online and delivered) but as I need to get about 200 images printed out I thought it might be best to visit the lab and talk to them and pick the images up.

Your thoughts?

What :!: :!: :!:

Maybe I don't understand the search screen then???

I put in Photo King in the Keywords field and then select "Search for all terms" (as I pressume "photo" will return thousands of hits).

I receive 2 threads but none on Photo King (one is "Ghosts by the beach" and the other "Saturday 12th Mini Meet").

What am I doing wrong on the search screen????

I just put in photoking (one word) and 5 hits came up. I think for all its worth noting with search engines sometimes you might have to have two or three tries with different words and joined or not etc.

Good place to use, especially if you're just doing direct printing.

A note you might like to know: places like The Lab get their prints (that you order) done at PhotoKing anyway. :)

OK - I have just got some pics done with PhotoKing and I gotta say I'm extremely happy :)
The quality is certainly great.
It was a bit touch and go getting the order through (I did it electronically), but we got there in the end.
I'll be using these guys more in the near future

Thanks for the tip Nnnnsic!

I am a bit reluctant to share this information... when i find a good source i try to gaurd it agressively... :)

i have been recommended vision graphics - http://www.visiongraphics.com.au by CFL (created for life).

As ive mentioned before CFL print Ken Duncan's prints (he set up the company). They used to do inhouse e6 processing but have stopped so they can focus primarily on printing...

which leads me to visiongraphics. This is where Ken Duncan (according to CFL sales rep) sends his films to be processed!

They are very reasonable, especially if you want to print some 200 prints... ill give you a quick breakdown of the costs.

Frontier Digital Minilab & Print Kiosk...

4x6 - $1.10 (2+), $0.80 (20+), $0.70 (50+), $0.45 (100+)
8x10 - $4.80 (2+), $3.20 (20+), $2.80 (50+), $1.80 (100+)
10x15 - $8.50 (2+), $6.70 (20+), $5.30 (50+), $4.00 (100+)

(left out some print sizes... click on the link below for their full service details)

150+ single image from any source at any size - further 10% off 100+ price above

250+ single image from any source at any size - further 20% off respective 100+ price above

click here to see their service guide...

they do so many different things including: signage, mounting, laminating, framing, canvas-stretching, backlit displays, large format, fine art prints, scanning, film processing, image restoration / retouching, file to film outputs, slide duplication etc.

anyway check them out.

I posted them 2 rolls of slide film, they had it processed e6 and scanned and sent back via express post within a few days. Was very happy with them, and will look forward to sending them some prints there way.

As i noted on a previous thread, I was paying $15 for 8x10 prints!... not anymore!

Hope this helps,

JD
