Anybody got any good ideas for places to visit and takes photos of. Prefer landscape photos (eg. rivers, bridges, rock formations, rainforests, waterfalls, beaches etc). Have four days off this weekend (pub holiday + rdo), so I'm planning on doing something.

Great pics! The straps were definitely popular.

Daryl, I bought a couple of books to help plans some trips. The first one is Victoria's National Parks. It has maps and provides lots of different sections depending on the park (e.g. history, vegetation, walks, scenic drives, birdlife, animals). I also bought a book called Wildlife Watching in Victoria (near the corner of Collins and Queen I think at gov shop).

Nicole, awesome. If you come up with some winners let me know. I'm also keen to find some birds to shoot (excuse the pun). Sick of photographing pidgeons, noisy minors, honey eaters, ducks and cranes (the cranes down at Stoney Point are quite evasive). I want to phograph small colorful birds, like the Superb Blue Wren, Silvereye etc.

You can do a search of birds found in certain locations. They will only list birds for the places they have visited. A lady took me to the You Yangs a couple of weeks ago. Definitely good for the smaller birds. Aside from the wetland area, Braeside Park also has lots of the smaller birds (e.g. superb wrens). Also, I was able to get quite close to both robins in the Dandenongs near Grant's Picnic Ground and swamp wallabies.

Tah, have to give the You Yangs a go sometime. Always looked at them when going down to places via Geelong, but never gone up them.
