A Michigan farm, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8

Sheesh 39 views and no replies....

Very rustic and calm photo Kerry. I suggest cropping the sky a bit as it tends to dominate the photo. Is the wheat/grass like that normall or did you desaturate it a bit? Either way looks great especially with the red coloured barn and house creating the stark contrast.

Kerry - it’s always great to see another part of the world. Would this be a wheat farm or some other kind of crop? The red is very nice on the buildings and looks to be well kept. The farms here in Australia always look old (in the main) and weather beaten.

my only critique si i dont really like that christmas tree on the left...i think this pic would be better without it...

I like this shot Kerry,

Yes I would remove tree on left & Saturate the Blue in the sky & red in the barn a lot more.

But thats just me of course. :D

Looks like one of those farms we only ever see in the movies. I love the colours of those buildings.

Piro & Chris: The stuff in front is just dead weeds from last year. We're just coming into spring here, so very little other than grass is sprouting. Dunno what kind of farm this is... I'm pretty much a city boy. :?

Mic: I'm surprised you'd up the saturation, rather than invert, colorize, and lower the gamma.... :lol:

John: This particular farm and the Amish horse-drawn cart are about 250 miles apart. But, the barn would fit perfectly in that country as well. In the American mid-west, barns have been traditionally painted red with white trim, for at least 60 to 70 years, probably longer.
