Postby BBJ on Fri Apr 15, 2005 8:43 pm

Hi maybe ?? for Gary, i dont seem to get emails anymore when i get a PM like we used to. Is this because of site change? or some that hasn't been done yet or just wont get anymore.
Thanks
John

I'm certainly getting some, but there is an issue with the email scripts running on the new host.

We were getting errors earlier today, but I (think I) commented out the line that was causing the problem.

That's not the line that sends the email though; the line I commented out raises an error message after the email attempt has failed.

For the moment, you'll have to just accept this situation until I can find out what the deal is.

Ok ...

I think I may know what the issue is; I'm not yet sure of how to deal with it though.

The problem may be related to the numebr of emails that the system is generating.

Remember that we're now on a "foreign" host, and using their email server. It may be that we're running into some anti-spam limitations on their server; I need to check that out, and if that's the case, reroute the emails to come from here, rather than there.

Might have something to do with the email it send when u get a new Pm msg Birdie, so yeh i gather Gary might be aware of it and well he must be working on it as it's the first email i have had from the PM side of things since we went down.

The error message that you're seeing is one I've injected, so yes, I'm aware of it.

Trying to track this down at a distance of about 10000 miles is a bit of an issue ...
