Black panther hunt

Postby Matt. K on Wed Apr 20, 2005 12:26 am

Any D70 members in the Sydney area interested in travelling to the blue mountains some time in May for a black panther hunt/meet? We could do some research, check the maps, and then go sit in a valley and wait for awhile. Could drink some wine until the fog lifts, and talk each other up into a big cat frenzy and ...well, who knows? Might get a rabbit or two?
This is real boys stuff. Killa could wear his cams...Sheepie could wear his Lowepro webbing....and I might turn up in a yowie suit. Birdie could work his Wimberly side kick and 200-400VR. Everyone bring a platter and some Whiskas for the panther. We could all get drunk/lost, and have to be rescued by the Westpac helicopter...which Birdie could then commandeer and take us all for a joy ride over the mountains. Oh...I forgot...my camera is at Maxwells getting repaired. Shit!
Regards

Wicked, what's a yowie suit and why don't we have something called a yowie suit in Canada?--

Wait don't tell me, it's a full length, full sleeve spandex suit with a yellow lightning bolt down the center and red gumbooties and foam cowboy hat to match. Am I way off? Please tell me I'm on the right track.

For "Yowie" read "Bigfoot"

Then you'll have it nailed.

I didn't know that there was a PHOTO of Matt-K dressed like that. I'd heard rumours, but now know it is true. You forgot one thing - he has red undies on over the top of the spandex (and if I'm not mistaken, they are Y-fronts to boot!!!)

Oh no - I've only been here a little while and probably shouldn't have done that :) But after the arty farty comments from Matt, I don't feel so bad

Dooda
For yowie suit, check my avatar. There have been many sightings of a mysterious, panther like creature in and around the Blue Mountains. I believe there is something in these sightings and a black panther D70 shoot would be a mini meet with a difference. Some internet research should allow us to narrow down the locality. If no panther eventuates then we could shoot landscapes and wildflowers.

Sounds like a perfect expedition for me. I'm good at taking badly out of focus pictures (OOF is required for Yowies,Bigfoots,Panthers,UFO's, etc)

A genuine photograph of the panther would reward you with enough cash to buy a DX2 and a bundle of new lenses.
