How to copy photo for pp work in NV ?????Q. No.1
How do I make a copy of a photo in NV to play around with it with out losing the original???. Q. No.2 How then do I post it into a message like this??? P.S. You are talking to someone who is computer illiterate( I hope this is not to silly a question for this forum)
Yogi,
#1: The safest way I've found is to make a duplicate of the image file itself on your computer (Mac -> select the file icon where ever its located on you hard disk, from the File menu under Finder select File->Duplicate. Windows has similar functionality...) #2 this thread should answer your questions
AFAIK, all RAW programs store changes, rather than altering the original image. IE there is a bit in the file saying "Altered Exposure = +1" sort of thing, but the real image data is unchanged.
I know Rawshooter Essentials (do a search, it's a free program), stores it's changes in a folder in the folder of an image. Your original images are unaltered from what I can see. - Nick

Yogi,
You can always select File/Save As, and then give the file a different name ... such as adding a suffix (a, b, etc ) to the original filename part or the file name. g.
