Yes... atleast 99% of the time....

have a look at this link regarding nef in linux.... dcdraw is some nice c frontends to allow you to view nef....

http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/

i use gtkam to grab my shots from the d70... gthumb to view and rotate if necessary... and gimp to do PP....

At some stage i might write a tutorial on Linux D70 Workflow....

Cheers...

Tutorial on doing infrared... very easy to follow and I'm sure it would be the same procedure in photoshop ....

Thanks xerubus

It was actually ajo43 who was keen on having a crack ot the IR.

I am interested too, however. I did some IR on film, both BW and colour. It was good fun, and I have a heavily manipulated shot of Aunty Betty, wide angle, BW IR, double exposed under the enlarger - I'll stick it somewhere for a look.Colour IR transparencies were a weird business - don't know whether you could simulate them in digital.

I got the IR filter for the G3 - cost about $60 too - and of course it doesn't fit on any of my d70 lenses - I will need a step up ring or two. I shot some digital IR using the filter - which as noted above is very very dark.

What was this thread again?

Thankyou all! You are too kind :)
Lens is the standard kits lens, I just stood with cold (to prevent lens fogging up) water over my head (ahh, the things you do for art)!
A fun photo to take even though I almost froze! heehe :D

So I guess being in Vancouver I need to submit by 7p Sunday Sydney time? I wonder what time that is here on the Pacific North West of Canada?

Nice one Belle, I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do and I keep wanting to copy yours.

I don't know if anyone bought the August edition of Photography Monthly (UK mag). If you want some ideas then the results of their comp titled "Moving Water" are on p 26-29. Some great shots from the Poms.

Mark,
Thanks for the complement, I'm going to assume that you are referring to my shot. We are catching the autumn leaves on their last leg here as most of them have fallen off the trees by now. I was on my way to a spot nearby to shoot a waterfall when I came upon this scene and decided that the reflection would be a different aspect of water.
The quality of the shots posted so far is awesome!

Andy

Very fun! I tried a mixture of tripod and handheld, I just realised this was one of the handheld ones. It was very dangerous and my poor d70 almost got soaking wet but handheld seemed to capture more life and fun which was interesting, probably because I was laughing at myself as I tried to maintain focus and balance.

Yep, the D70Killakoala login. I assume the LOGIN screen that pops up is a similar POPUP to the admin button?

I uninstalled the Google toolbar completely so there is no chance of the POPUPKILLER stopping the popup.

Are you using XP with SP2?

No, just XP-Pro with SP1 still. I havent upgraded yet.

Hi MDH

I have made a cock-up!

I uploaded my image for the comp and realised it was too small so uploaded the same image hoping it would replace the original but it has not.

Can you remove the smaller of the two images for me and my aplogies

Too late to enter - but just to get into the club spirit

Postby bago100 on Sun Oct 31, 2004 5:40 pm

Hi All
I'm far too late to enter the running water comp, and I still have to learn how to extract the EXIF data to meet the rules of entry but until the next competition and

Just to get into the spirit, here are my non-votable two entries :D

Image

and if two entries are allowed

There are some fantastic entries in the competition though. Well done to all competitors and may the best photo win!

Cheers
