Sigma 18-50mm/2.8

Postby cordy on Thu Apr 28, 2005 10:27 am

Hiya,

Anyone had any experiences with this lense?

I've currently got a Nikkor 20mm/1.8 that unfortunately I have to give back as its borrowed. So Im seeking a lense similar (I do a lot of close up work of cars) and this one *seems* to fit the bill nicely.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

I have one of these. It seems like a pretty nice lens to me, especially for the price. 8) I posted a couple of pics on the Image board, that were taken with this lens. I'd be glad to try to answer any questions you might have.

Chris,
Please refine your post! and narrowing your question.
You got a loan Nikkor 20/1.8 lens and want something similar?
My answer is: the Sigma 18-50 is not in the same league of/ with the prime and not wide open (f.1.8 ) as the Nikon 20/1.8.

If you're looking for the similar or less than the 20/1.8 lens,

they're: Nikkor 14/2.8, 16/2.8, 18/2.8, 20/2.8, 24/2.8, 28/1.4. 35/2
