***Challenge 4: Vote!***

Postby MHD on Sun May 01, 2005 1:23 am

Please refer to the "How to vote with crayon drawings, on how to vote (I might need to fix some URLs, I will check)

Voting is now open.... I strongly encourage EVERYONE to vote!

Scores vary from "its a picture"=1 to "awesome, frame it and sell it"=10

The highest average scored photo wins

Please refrain from discussing individual entries here...

Good luck!

I be previous winners of the comp thought that..

Anyhoo:
Between 18-21 votes for each image now!
Remember voting is open to all members!

An interesting spread in scores so far! You vote will make a difference, past comps have come down to the wire, mere fractions of a point!

As always... There is a battle between the top three :)

I like watching it unfold.. During the voting process 1,2 and 3rd can change places all the time!

Scott,

I can't seem to view the "Geese Preening" pic. There is just a little black square there. I've tried IE and Firefox on both my laptop and desktop. At first I thought it was the DQ'ed entry put the stats are showing it has been viewed 44 times (up from 28 yesterday) :!: :?:

Submission...

Mind you, getting less votes is not always a disadvantage as it is a critique (ie you score each image, highest average wins)

And I didnt (and dont anymore) submit an image... I got to have some fun :D

Nope :P

What I will say:
*There are between 21 to 25 votes for each image
*At a current score of 8.29 the leading entry is the highest scored picture in the comps to date (followed by JordanP's winning entry in the B&W comp)
* Three people think the submitter of the 4th placed entry should frame and sell his image

Doubt it's me. I entered this one mainly for the challenge of the theme, but don't feel like it is strong, and have a hard time believing anyone thinks I should frame it and sell it. I'll hold off on commenting on the rest of the pics until voting is done.

Sorry Birdie,
I was starting to make plans for it when an apartment popped up in in the city that I made an extremely low offer on. I wasn't expecting them to accept it, and as I couldn't afford a higher price I wasn't going to haggle over it. Well he accepted (he was desperate as he had a renter in there that wasn't paying and wasn't leaving) so I spent every last cent on Property transfer tax etc and cleaning/painting/upgrading as the renter was a smoker. Now I really don't have the money even with the wife working for an airline. I also have only four days off of work and a family reunion coming. I'm still planning on coming out to something though, but it's going to have to wait until next year.  I appreciate you asking though, it means a lot. Now on topic:

Can we comment on the contest now and the pics in general on this thread as I believe the voting is closed...right?

So will everyone else.

Let's not be so evil, Glen.

Here we are, dangling the prizes in front of everyone's faces at least a week before they're to know. We should stop. It's really mean!

Yep..
We have almost sorted out the all details... Just want to have a quick chat with you and Gary on the weekend (and other interested parties at the meet) to make sure everyone is happy and there are no holes in it!

So all being well those who come to the meet will know by the time it is over!

Oh as well as knowing the winner of this comp :D

Dammit, is the winner announcement this Saturday? I thought it was next Saturday. I was going to come and congratulate the lucky winner.

It's always the way too, not entering challenge 4 I have had quite a few good results for "three"!!! Typical.

The next challenge sounds utterly delicious and from the secrective salivating going on about the prizes I reckon we'll get a hell of a lot of entries for it.
