Were and how much you payed for adobe photoshop csI have trialed the Adobe CS and it has run out months ago and it seams like a lot of money to me to spend on program that i would rather put in to a lense (i think i have seen the cost at aprox $900 or $1000 non student ... and have seen student cost of around $400
Is there any differance between the 2 versions...... i am not a student but have a son in year 10 with a student id card... Is that all i need to get hold of a fully working Adobe CS (and a free up grade to cs2 when released) or do you need to have previous versions of photoshop on your computer? ie am i getting for $400 just a up grade version Thanks and hoping some one can save me many $$$ p.s. one last q.u is it really worth the $??? everyone raves about it thoughbut can other cheeper soft ware do the job just as well?
An upgrade version requires a previous version of Photoshop, usually a minimum of PS4 or 5.
If you don't have a previous version, you need a full version. The academic versions are the same as the non-academic versions, just with an "academic edition" sticker and an "academic edition" splash screen. I think that covers it. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Gee, I would have assumed that the acedemic edition would have also come with a link to ????? Last edited by johndec on Wed May 04, 2005 12:28 am, edited 1 time in total.

We can't actually encourage Warez here, BBJ... so you might want to edit that post.

Well, not really any bit. Maybe the "share and share alike" bit.
I just don't want to open us up for people claiming that users on here encourage the sharing of applications, and more specifically, Adobe Photoshop. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Yeh no worries leigh but i think you can take that anyway, just a suggestion and thinking outside the square, i do believe some software is so over priced for a lot of people but yeh is this different from member sharing there spyders?

You're right that there isn't much different, but the Adobe Warez discussion can get a bit worrisome, especially with how ridiculous companies get these days.
That said, I don't mind discussions about warez. It's just that I can't really allow any implications that may advocate it. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Yup.
That's a good idea, Glen. We can't regulate pm's. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

What I have known that the Adobe PS (AE) is not upgradeable to the latest version, only the full version can be upgraded.
So, if you buy the PSCS (AE) to use now and buy the new version PSCS2 (AE) if you need to upgrade in the future. That what my understanding & selling to customers in the past and don't know if there's any new changes of Adobe 's policies recently. Birddog114

hame, besides the trial of PSCS, what other photo software r u using to PP your photos. IMHO NV is a decent software, although 'picture project' is sh*t! if u havent tried NV give it a go, i used NV for over 10 months b4 upgrading to NC. PS E 3 is also worth a look at, since it has features that r more suited to photo imaging. i think u can DL that as a trail also.
This has been mentioned time and time again, and I'm going to beat Scott in saying this, but there's always The Gimp.
