Aperture issue with D70 and Af Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 D?

Postby timbo on Fri May 06, 2005 8:17 am

I can only get a maximum aperture of f/3.3 when this lens is connected to the D70. Whether in Manual, A, S or P it just won't open up to f/2.8. I tried it on my F801 and – hey presto – 2.8.

Strangely enough when I reattached it to the D70 this morning it gave me a 2.8 reading and my heart filled with joy, but as soon as I half-pressed the button to get an exposure reading it went down to 3.3. Is there some menu default I'm overlooking here, and/or has anyone else experienced this problem?

Normal behaviour with a macro lens.
Take a look at this earlier thread on the same issue:
