D70Users.com vs net

Postby Aussie Dave on Sat May 07, 2005 12:22 am

Due to the change to d70users.net, will the logo and Title Header be changed to suit the internet address ?

If so, I wonder if I could be so bold as to make a suggestion ??

Continuing on from Birdies idea for the next BIG Shooting Challenge, I wonder what the moderators, and other members think of the idea that the winner of Challenge 5, OR, say the three best photos (chosen by voters) could be used to make up a new Banner for the index page of the site ??

This distinguished banner, could immortalise the winner(s) for the following 12 months and perhaps each year, the assignment preceding the AA could run with the same idea, giving appreciation to the winners that frequent the site so often ??

If I'm making a complete @$$ of myself, please excuse me as it is late and I am tired. I'd be interested to know what others think of this idea, or if it could be altered in someway to be workable ??

Actually, there's been no "change".

We took up the .net URL to allow us to simplify the host change, but (a) the .com address works (b) they both resolve to the same place and (c) from the anniversary, it's going to become DSLRUsers.com anyway.

You can already use any of those three as it is right now, btw.

I'll certainly be interested to hear what others think of this.

swell? swell???

This is the first time in your many posts I've noticed a language problem with you. "Great", "Fine", even "OK" is good, but "swell"?

hrmmmm

Come on Dooda, get with the programme! We use the Queen's English down here (well, sorta!!)

Have you not seen "Pleasantville"? It's truly a swell movie, and I'd commend it to you.

So does that mean that the forum will be moving away from Nikon cameras to all DSLR cameras or will it be all Nikon digital SLRs? Just curious, happy either way.

Cheers,

We already have people here who don't use Nikons, and DSLR Users will more than likely have some forums for them, but for the most part, it will be a forum with more forums for Nikonians. ;)

Thanks Greg....I did not know this, or I wouldn't have mentioned it.
It seems that not too many people are in favour of my suggestion, so therefore I gracefully withdraw it.
I, along with everyone else, look forward to finding out the winner of Challenge 4 and also in hearing about Challenge 5.
