Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

It is cool Dee,

High nOOn meaning shadows directly overhead I presume.

It's amazing what you can make an image out of, well done.

Dee - I like this pic but was wondering if it would have looked better shot from the other side. I find the background slightly distracting with the geometric patterns.

Mic - shadows are underneath - not above

You have a very creative eye Dee. I could never get so much out of an ordinary scene that I'd probably just walk by and not notice.

Wonder what that is that appears to be crawling along the top of the horizontal bar, check out the shadow under the seat on the left :? ...

Cheers.

What can I say, some people just have that third eye that sees things us mere mortals miss. Great image. :!:

Lovely image, Dee. I'm a big fan of simple shapes and shadows, and this is done very well. And I love the title - the harsh light and the faded colours remind me of those old westerns set in the wild west.

mudder:

i didnt even notice that extra shadow...

this shot was taken in a deserted playground in a poor area of Mexico during a historic tour...we saw iguanas off in the shade, so probably lots of other creepy things...

Chris: you are probably right about shooting from the other side...it probably would have worked better...

Fantastic work as per usual Dee. You never let us down. The only downside I guess to this image is the section of concrete in the top left corner. It kind of distracts for me. I'm sure if you could be bothered you could easily clone it out as the sandy substance surrounding it lacks any difficult features that would make it an easy subject to clone.

My partner thought your photo of the swings was beautifully composed, strong lines and could be put on the front of a book - I'd have to agree!

Kipper, i'm looking for this section of concrete that must be flying through the air in the "top left" corner!! Can you see something I can't or did you mean bottom right? Either way I reckon it's best left as is..both are wonderful shots flippy.

Liam =]

EDIT: sorry Kipper, i've just realised you were talking about the first photo! my Sony...
