Just been, looked & commented. Its interesting to see how much you have in terms of preconception of who the photographer is. I thought I recognised the work of three regulars and got every single one wrong!.
Overall I'd say this is a great group of images. Peter

I'll be completely honest and say that I wasn't as impressed with a lot of the images in this comp.
I thought that many of the entries played the theme only in the name and not in the actual image. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

I would agree with Leigh. I didn't think any of the images were that great. Most of them were well taken, but just not really great pictures, and none of them played the theme really really well. There were a couple that I liked, I thought that mine sort of stunk in comparison but then again the type of picture I took isn't exactly my bread and butter. For the most part I voted a lot of average and slightly above or below.

Just want to say to the winner of this challenge:
The next challenge is a BIG 1 for the AA so prepare yourself an excellent theme(s) for announcing in the next few days. What my opinion and suggestion is: First winner can have three suggested themes and the themes should be reviewed by few people as admins + moderators + organizers, then select one prior to announce to the board. What's your thought? Birddog114
VNAF, My Beloved Country and Airspace
That sounds good, Birddog... gives the moderators more time to think about what to shoot!
Nah, in all fairness, as themes get harder to choose, discussing possible alternatives is a good idea. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

It was a bit dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. If you were too literal, your fellow members would mark you down. If you were too abstract, the same thing would happen (at least that was my thinking). That doesn't make it a bad choice of topic, just challenging. I suppose that's why they called it "Challenge 4".
I to some extent also agree with Leigh.
Then the motto, being three, is perhaps a little vague. (this is my personal opinion) That's why I couldn't vote for any of the photos which BTW I quite liked. However, gratulations to the winner ! I'm interested to see what the next challenge is all about. Cheers CD
Thanks Leigh. SHot makes a lot more sense now. What Google thing Peter

Wish I could be down there with you guys for the mini-meet.
It's one thing to click refresh and see there's a new post announcing the winners, but to be there. . ohhh the suspense. Yes, I did expect to see stronger compositions... But I did like the one that won....
It does go to show though that an eaiser comp theme is not always a better thing... And discussion of the theme is always welcomed... and ********** will have plenty of time to think of one New page

yeah? so who won?
I think I liked Chris's the best. It was probably the cleanest technically, was purdy, and nicely embodied a quantity of three. My vote for the next theme is... L O G I C Another idea for a theme would be U T T E R O B L I T E R A T I O N. Sort of uppie and happy. I like perky themes.

A deserving winner. Congratulations Flyer
On a side note, I just went through all the entries again and it appears that 7 people didn't even vote for themselves, or if the did they didn't give themselves top marks
A HUGE congratulations to Flyer, Chris and Liam, and to everyone else who entered. I didn't quite feel confident enough, but next time for sure! I had various ideas too, but very little time to go searching! Next comp I will try and make the effort!
Well done everyone!
Wow! What a ripper!
To come third is fantastic for me and behind those two guys I couldn't be happier! I totally agree with the winner/runner-up..I loved both of them but was torn between which should win so I'm glad it was a democratic voting system! Liam =]
I would like to add my congrats to Flyer for a pic that I knew was a winner from the word go and to Liam for coming in third place. Also, congrats to all who entered.
Chris

Congrats Flyer and all who placed well. I actually did better than I thought I would. That "well it's a picture" vote, you have to wonder what it is about particular pics that brings that out, whether there is a really good reason or they simply looked at it, didn't like it, and gave it a low vote.
good work flyer its a very nice image, sharp as a tac and flows very nicely.
http://www.potofgrass.com/gallery/challenge4/DSC_8303 i didnt think id get close heh (i didnt.) ... interestingly, im the surfer on the left ... was a friends gf who took the shot ... under my instruction, settings and camera & ownership
Well done Flyer - that was my first choice.
Very very nice image and the sparkle in the drops is simply sublime. Congratulations mate. Well done as well to the runners up and all who entered. I know it was a bitch of a theme and to be honest on reflection I wouldnt have chosen it but nice one. Pick a good one mate, its a difficult job but I'm sure you'll do well. Matt
Congratulations Flyers, very nice image and I love the stardust effect, did you use any filter to get it? The 2sd and 3rd entries were also technically oustanding - I wouldn't be able to even get close. I tried to participate but my entry was received too late, next time I'll make sure to send it earlier to avoid last minute technical problems!

Thank you very much for your votes & positive feedback.
I was up against very stiff competition, so I feel honored to have won. Congratulations to Chris & Liam as well. Thanks to everyone involved in running this forum as it provides us with an opportunity to improve our skills. Cheers
No filters Link. Just the way the lens caught the light. Go Sigma!
Hmm. People might laugh, but I'm starting to think that these "Wannabee Nikon" jokes about Sigma lenses are very much wide of the mark
I know I'm a bit late, but a big congrats to FLyer, Chris and Liam! Worthy shots...well done

A well deserved win.
I find it interesting that not everone apparently voted for themselves. A few of the shots had no vote for "Frame it and Sell it". Personally I think you should not be able to vote for your own shot but those who don't are starting behind the eight ball when many do. Cheers Dean I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Guys. You're right SB800 is top of my wish list and Arek now has TWO the lucky bugger. But it's well deserved. His pic was a deserving winner. It was good to finally meet him and his wife since we live so close.
