Gary - Competition sectionGary,
Can we please have a seperate section for the Competitions? Currently we some posts in Shooting Assignments and some in Information (and now some in General). It might be easier to follow the competiton posts if there all in the one section. Cheers, W00DY Andrew

While I'm not averse to adding extra sections where necessary, I'm not sure that providing another section will address the problem of people posting their messages in the wrong one.
Point my nose (or Leigh's) at a thread that you think is in the incorrect section, (via PM preferably) and we'll just move it to the more appropriate location. g.

Perhaps a declaration that all competition threads should live in a certain section would resolve?

lost postsI lose track of where my posts are because I have no idea where they went. This would rectify my confusioin (announcement of where all competition posts go.
Nah... the declaration wouldn't make a difference at all.
I mean, the main page's categories have what you should stick in them written underneath, for example: Image Reviews and Critiques Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. With regards to a competition section, I'd say it's much like the Trader Opinions section, where, if we get enough threads going for the said topic, then yes we probably will set one up and move the previous competition threads to it. Competition threads are numbers one and two on the most popular by reply, and one and three on the most popular by view lists.

Greg,
Yes, and each of those threads is (correctly IMHO) in the Shooting Assignments section. By way of contrast, Birddog started a thread in the Information (IIRC) section, detailing the prizes he was offerring for the next challenge. Was this posting in the correct section? While I accept that it could quite reasonably have been placed into Shooting Assignments thread, its message was one of general information for the whole group. It just so happens that the message content also related to the Challenge, but I'm comfortable that this was placed in the correct location; either place was good, but Information is, IMHO, perhaps the more appropriate location. And getting back to those challenge threads in the Shooting Assignments section, they're more related to the rules of each challenge, directions for uploading, voting, etc, plus of course results. I'm quite comfortable with all of this, and I have a lot of confidence in the massed intelligence of this group to do the right thing. g.

Ditto... its there... we know where to find it... some boards get quite retentive about where certain posts should go... this place is a little more laid back and it is good!
