Detachable Camera Strap

Postby sirhc55 on Wed Nov 03, 2004 12:37 pm

Hi all

Does anyone know of a detachable camera strap (similar to Domke) that is available in Aus.

I find the supplied strap tiresome when it has to be removed for certain types of photos, i.e. macro

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Chris,

The one from Nikonians is good. It is very comfortable and secure and the neck part can easily be removed.

I've been talking with Optech USA to supply us with D70User.com logo on it same as Nikonian.org.
Problem I have is:
I have to make a commitment of quantity order so we can get a good price and have been discussed with Gary previously, and don't know what number of user willing to purchase and change from the original Nikon strap to Optech strap? but I'm very keen on it and use them very often, they're excellent strap and last long, I have one and last more than 15 years, very relaxing and comfortable with my F5 and now D2h + heavy lens.

Your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated!
If thing turns good then I'll start to do it asap.

Thanks guys & gals for the replies.

I will go with you birddog - why not post to all members - I am sure that given the option of removing the strap easily will appeal to many

I purchased the Nikonians Pro Strap from site mentioned in previous post. Charged it to may credit card and arrived in Adelaide from Germany in 10 calendar days. Strap plus postage about AU$46.00. Well worth it. Area around the neck is made from neoprene, not only soft on the neck but also stretches plus detachable strap excellent for storage of camera in camera bag/backpack. You could wear it all day without any problem. I consider it one on my best purchases 10/10.

Cheers,
fozzie

If I do bulk buy and commit a quantity with our logo, I guess and think I can bring them into Australia less than $40.00 including GST

These Optech straps are brilliant - really comfortable. I used to have one on my F90 before I sold the camera years ago. Have recently been noticing how much I liked it in comparison with the D70 strap :)

I've just started thinking about getting another one, so I'd be interested in one.

I would go for it birddog - especially with our very own logo - at $50 it would be worth it for both comfort and usability

Pro & Pro Loop strap they sell to me at US$22.00 each FOB no logo, if I have a commitment of quantity, I can have for around US$20.00 = AU$28.00 with our logo FOB. That's a huge saving!!!!

Al,

Just remember that with the logo we need to pay for getting the artwork done, and to order in a somewhat relatively significant number.

While Birddog is kind enough to put his hand up and finance the costs for this up front, we need to be mindful of the underlying commitment that he's making, and fully support this effort thus eliminating any risks on his part.

While I don't expect any issues to arise, we do need solid numbers to go ahead. By all means put your hands up if you want one, but this has to be for serious players only.

Having said that, the cost of the product is actually quite small, so let's get a serious show of hands for this.

One final thing: Optech also have a CF card holder that we could also get "branded". Do others have any interest in this, or am I the only one? :)

The strap looks excellent, and the projected price is most acceptable.

Hi Birddog

I am easy on either the Pro or Pro Loop so whatever comes out on top is fine by me.

As to colour - I personally think black with either a yellow (indicating Nikon) or white logo

Cheers and thanks for your amazing help on all matters

Not interested in the grip, although the media holders Gary is talking about look interesting :)

Any colour - Red would go with my Camera Bag, but Black with the Yellow logo looks like it's a goer.

Hi All,
I counted in total from all you replied posts

8 x Pro Loop Trap + 02 x Pro Strap
04 x Hand grip
01 x Media (Glen)

OK so we have to go for Pro Loop Trap in black and our logo will be in yellow.,
I got their replied email just few minutes ago: they tried to push the artwork done by Friday, will have 50 Pro Loop Strap in production immediately and hopefully we will have them by end of Nov.

Look at a group of photogs with the D70Users.com polo and camera trap.
What can people say? huh?
