Half price 30"x20" prints

Postby ozimax on Fri May 13, 2005 9:42 pm

Not sure if Sydney and other cities have this deal, but most probably do. Camerahouse, using Epson 9600 printer and Epson paper, are doing half price 30x20 inch prints. I was very impressed with the quality and colour of the Epson inks. I think the going rate (half price) is $24. For some reason they gave me 4 prints at $20 each, I'm not complaining.

Might be worth a look for some D70 users looking to get larger prints for framing. I'm not sure how long the special is on for.

Also, BIGW are doing 6x4's for 20c at present. I have been stocking up on these for thumbnails, giveaways etc, can't print them myself at that price. The Agfa colour seems reasonable.

Their machines are very unreliable but cheap.

ozimax,
If you own an Epson R1800 or 2100, that size of print cost you less than $10.00

The NORMAL price from Photoking is $23.25 for a 24x30, printed really nicely on Kodak Supra Endura paper - really nice finish :)

As birddog says though - once you got one of those beaut new Epson printers, you can't beat the home price! If I didn't already have my R800...

The BigW prints @ 20 cents are great - agree. Have started to use this to print out for the old normal type photo albums. At this price, you just package up the best from the month and go print them - intend to do this regularly now I've finally done it once!

The new inks in the new range of Epson printers are much brighter and they have a better black and white tonal range. The bronzing that you got from printing on glossy stock has gone with the new inks. Also the 2100 has been replaced by the 2400 and the 7600 has been replaced by the 7800 both using the new inks. They are the same inks as the 800

I have the 2100 as well and playing with it all the time, I've seen the works on the 7600, love them but no room to put it at the back.

Exactly, what my thought is, I'll "renovate" my garage as my photography workshop and testing bench with printers and PCs, install an overhead projector so I can use it for some workshop for members in PS or other PPing.
I thought about it while ago, but too busy in running other project and contracts, will have it one day near.

Birdie,

I would like to own one (like the SB800) but I just have to keep saving. (Actually, I would like a 9600 to print 10 metre long banners!)

Sheepie, where or what is Photoking? Online? (There's not as much choice in regional areas for printing, or anything else for that matter!)

Thanks,

nnnnsic put us onto them - he brought along an amazing print at the Xmas function last year.
I have since used them to test the print quality and service, and am more than satisfied. Will be using them again soon :)

For the one-offs though, there's someone who lives not too far from here with a very big heart and nice gear

Give me more time, once my fully completed workshop operates, then we will have full ability to do some works for our members in printing, PS, PPing tutorials, and camera talk sessions etc...
