D70s flash problem

Postby Pascal on Mon May 16, 2005 1:30 am

Hi guys,i did buy a D70s kit (18-70) about 2 days ago.My problem is that i can't get my Metz mecablitz 44AF-4N flashing in TTL mode, but it should be possible.I tried several ways to get it done but i don't get it activated. The flash symbol is blinking wen i push the button halfway down and than it`s locked.

Don't know much about the 44AF-4N's support for iTTL. I never had much success with my Metz 45-CL and my D70. I always ended up shooting manual as I couldn't get it to work thru TTL (and had bought an SB800 anyway). I don't think my flash fully supported the d70, tho it worked fine on my f90x.

Hi Pascal, and welcome.

Where in The Netherlands are you located?

Do you have the correct adapter for the Metz onto the D70s? I woulkd expect that it should be the same one as for the D70, but I'm not sure.

What settings do you have on the camera? What mode is it in? What flash mode is it in?

And ... please do not cross post your questions, as (a) we do not permit it here and (b) it only leads to confusion as to within which thread one needs to post one's response. I have deleteed your other posting.

What my experiences are the Met 44 and 45 never work with all new Nikon DSLRs, I have the METZ 45 and keep it as collectible item.
It's works on my F90x and F5.
