info for ACR users with new d70s files

Postby KerryPierce on Mon May 16, 2005 1:57 pm

There's a post in this thread by bclaff, that has a utility to change the files so that they'll open in ACR. The fellow seems to know what he's talking about and has another thread explaining how he has probed the encryption on d2x files. He claims that the d70s nef files are not encrypted, but that they won't open in ACR because of the model designation field.

Anyway, here's the thread, FWIW. Since I don't have access to a d70s file, I can't test the util.

This guy seems to know his stuff. Check out his site at http://home.comcast.net/~NikonD70/. There is some interesting reading there.

Cheers

That guy's a smart man. I've learned quite a lot from reading his posts on Nikonians, eg. NEFs are TIFFs, high ISO does not cause noise, and the various DVP shooting options with their colour modes and sharpening levels chosen.
