Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. RingtailAnother regular visitor to my fence. Shallow DOF let this one down. Once again focussing in pitch darkness meant I missed the best focus point - the eyes. Seems the edge of the ears and the front foot was the sharpest point. Your comments are welcome.

New breed of possum, the stunned mulletis
Great catch though, I'd have no hope of getting focus that close in the dark, I have enough trouble in the light! Just missed his pinkies... Use an SB800? Metering? Interested as it seems really nicely exposed... Cheers. Aka Andrew
Cheers, Mudder. Here's the full EXIF:
Manual mode RAW Handheld 70-300G at 180mm 1/60" f4.8 SB800 i-TTL (no compensation) Multi-pattern metering ISO200 Pinkies lost in original composition - I don't normally crop that badly! Next time I'll try for f8-11 to increase the sharpness overall. Simon

I like the image, Simon - and I think the shallow DOF isn't an issue.

Would you believe I was using a REALLY slow flash?
Don't know why I even mentioned handheld - I was very tired when I posted the image so maybe the brain was a bit numb. Sorry for the misinformation. Of course the flash is going to stop any movement. Congratulations Beetleboy - you passed my little test. Craig - we'll have to talk! Thanks everyone for the comments. Simon
