Inside Out and other Pelican photosI was merrily shooting this Pelican today when he decided to turn himself inside out for my entertainment... I've never seen one do this before - presumably he was stretching the skin...
- - - As usual, click for more pic - - - Then I caught him head on - I'm not sure I've ever seen a Pelican from this angle before as the head looks very strange... A close up of the webbed foot: And just for good measure an orthodox photo of said Pelican... Cheers, John

What's all this talk about a CPL??? Which photos would have benefitted from a CPL... And the answer is no... I don't have one to fit the 80-400VR yet... Cheers, John

you gotta love a good pelican shot
maybe one day they'll overtake the ducks! nice shots Leek, esp the inside out one - never seen that done either, but I think you might be right on the reason *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
John, have a look here as a start:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutor ... zers.shtml Blue sky, water, big white bird = CPL If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
The first time I saw a Pelican do the "inside out thing" it freaked me out Wondering what the heck it was doing but was fascinating to watch just the same...
Like that last one, the classic Pelican pose They're hard to expose corectly too, aren't they? Never tried a CPL on wildlife/animal shots... Hmmm, might have to try that but assume it'll slow shutter speeds... Aka Andrew
Wow Leek, cool shot.
You gotta admire an animal that can turn a certain piece of their anatomy inside out Can anybody else on this Forum do that To a piece of their anatomy that is. Heeehee. Sorry, I've had a few. Hic hic up up
