Panorama - Crowdy Bay National Park
First attempt at a pano using Panorama Factory - seems to do a MUCH better job than PS. Might have to look at getting a roll of A3 and visiting our friendly printer

Can we have some more info on your pano.......lens, exposure.......single row or double row ?......... but a very good pix...

OK - was a single row of 13 pics, taken landscape, kit lens @ 18mm, f11
C-Polariser was used. Handheld, so I'm relying on the software doing some good things in stitching! Opened the RAW files, saved as TIFF's - then opened Pano Factory and let it do it's thing (I didn't play with the default settings at all). Saved as TIFF, reopened in PS, sharpened and a little bit of curves work, added the border and saved. Final version (before adjusting for Web) was 8590x2231 (that's 28x7 inches @ 300dpi without pushing it at all). I've printed it on an A4 sheet (11 inches) and it looks great. I think it's worth doing some more work on this one, and learning more about what Panorama Factory can do. I have used the Freeware version for this test (http://www.panoramafactory.com/download.html#freeware), but think I might have a good look at the Shareware version (http://www.panoramafactory.com/download.html#standard - costs to register - puts a watermark on the output until you do  ).

I think these details are correct - my wife will kill me if they're wrong! (she spent a fair portion of her childhood summers there)... This shot is taken from Indian Head, in Crowdy Bay National Park - overlooking K y l i e's Beach to the south. Crowdy Bay is between Taree and Port Macquarie, on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. Wouldnt mind see it either. Went to sheepies smugmug galleries and looked through the picd threre. I spent my childhood at my grandmothers house in Crowdy Head every holidays. Was great to see pics of the area
Leon. Great pano shot and it shows off panorama factory nicely. Is the second image a pano too or just a pano shaped crop? In any case I think that shot works really well too.

Yip - can't remember how many frames that one was. I am really impressed with this program - the joins are pretty much invisible, and the quality is really amazing. Now I gotta start looking at pano heads! (although I really wonder, as the results so far are great without a head). *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Leon, You can do it without the expensive of pano heads but there's some faults and Panorama or other software can't fix it or play fooled. If you're keen in panorama then head and accessories should be on your wish list. Birddog114
