My favourite shot is the following one as it's the closest i've been to lightning and it made me question why i like taking photos.... cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Love the last one Mark! She's a ripper!! Were these taken tonight?? Heard Brisbane had a storm with a large amount of hail.
I'm yet to try my D70 with lightning......there is a distinct lack of it in Melbourne! Very well done....I'm jealous and in need of a good storm!
Wow thats cool what setting did you have it set one.........remote bulb ?

damn xerubus, nice shots!! That last one is amzing... I have yet to see a good thunder cloud develop here as summer has not yet sprung and we got a frost last night oh well, up here, it's safe to assume frost until memorial day... if you don't konw when that is, it's may 30th (not sure how versed the autral peoples are to boreal holidays!).
I assume these were just bulb shots stopped when lightning hit? mateo
That last one is fantastic. As stormygirl says we haven't had a decent storm for ages. My brother was just leaving the supermarket when the storm hit. He very quickly stuck the car in reverse. Hope you guys are all ok up there!

MATT - That would have been an awesome experience....
StormyGirl - Yes... taken last night. they are tipping another storm latter today. Catcha - Unfortunately since the firmware upgrade i cannot use remote shutter release whilst in M mode and bulb. Not impressed! I ended up going f10, M mode, Manual focus to infinity, and 5 sec timer. click... click.. click... etc until i was happy. Mateo - See above Nicole - I was listening to firecom all night on my scanner and there were very little accidents or people hurt. main problems were water damage. Kerry - thankyou cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Thanks Mark for the Inversion,
Gotta love that button Great shots too, stay in that car when under those huge SB 800's, next time your out try triggering a bolt with the SB 800. Mic.
Sorry to get of track, but.... u said that with the new firware u cant use the remote in Bulb or manual mode? is this the v2.0 firmware...if so is there a logical explanation to this?
hi bountybala.... it has been confirmed that it isn't the firmware upgrade that has caused this problem. cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
I was using IR remote and bulb / manual on weekend. No probs. (funnily enough for lightning photos too)
