Have a Gander at this!!I had a bit of time today, so I thought I might try and join the D70 duck shooters club, but I only managed to make a goose of myself
If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
John,
Great stuff! Hongkong sells roasted goose! French has goose liver pate! I love it! Nice works. Birddog114

You have to watch those ganders, they can be more territorial than dogs. They seem to like nuts Be very careful or
I had a friend who was hospitalised as a result of a gander having a very close gander at the more delicate parts of his person. BTW, nice pic. Foreground lighting may be slightly too strong, but hey, who's nitpicking. TFF (Trevor)

I actually upped the brightness a little as it looked a bit underexposed on my CRT. Now I look at it on my lappie,it looks a tad overdone. Damm monitors, maybe I should mail everyone a print If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
I've never realised the importance of the D70's 1/500th flash sync until today. If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??

Nice shots! Geese make great subjects. Suggest you try dialling in minus 0.7 on your flash and the images will look more natural. The lighting is a little overpowering...but just a tad. Regards
Matt. K
The 2nd one has so much more to it - well done.
Postscript: Be very wary about posting pics of pet ducks as Birddog will want them for a meal Chris

Thanks all. I don't think Rockdale Council will take too kindly to Birddog doing their resident Scarborough Park Geese in Hoi Sin sauce
One other point, colour temperature on monitors: I have my CRT set to 6500K as it is closest to what my printer spits out. I must remember to review pics at 9300K before I post as that is the colour temperature most monitors and AFAIK all lcd's default to.... If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
He's not the only one. And John, are you going to be at the minimeet this week? Want me to bring my Spyder2 for you to borrow? Mind you, I have to say the problem here seems to be too much fill flash rather than a major calibration issue, try -2/3 FEC as Matt K suggests. Mine is always set at -2/3 unless I have the LS2 on, and I haven't quite figured that one all out yet.
MCWB, Thank you very much for the kind offer. I probably won't know till Thursday or Friday if I can get there (the curse of the self employed), but I'll PM you and take you up on your kind offer if I can. I'll take the tip on -2/3 if I can translate the manual from the original tlhIngan and work out how to do it If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
Yes, it is improved and is a good pic. I think the advice about reducing the power of the flash for future shots is right on the money. TFF (Trevor)
