So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I really like your moon shot for two reasons - firstly the fantastic detail in the moon, and secondly for the way you've cropped it. The black expanse on the left really makes this shot for me, especially since I see so many neat & in the middle moon pics (with apologies to Matt K  )Peter

All of the photos are great, but I love that Pano Sheepie, and can't wait to see the printed version at a minimeet... The colours and the clarity of the shot make it sing!!! You should open up a stall at the Rocks and sell it to tourists... Out of interest, How much better is Panofactory over and above what Autostitch can do??? I'd love to see the same images combined with Autostitch as a comparison? Cheers, John

Peter, Thanx for the kind words. The full image is, indeed, NAITM, and I really didn't want that at all, hence the crop. The detail is great (who says the 80-400VR is soft?) but what I found of interest was that I changed the NEF from using my default camera-loaded custom curve to using just the Nikon high contrast profile, which brought everything out just perfectly. g.

Who remembers using editing tape on 8mm movies? Or even before editing tape, you had to scrape off the emulsion from one section of the film, brush a special liquid adhesive onto it, and then press down the second section and compress the join while it dried. g.

Your moon shot has a fantastic amount of detail - more than my post of the moon last week with jupiter: http://www.d70users.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight= The only thing that I believe could improve on yours is dulling the sharpening a little on the edges of the moon. On mine I sharpened quite moderately, but did a quick blur brush along the edge as it seems prone to over-sharpening. HB
