Nikon 70-300 ED
Just got this lens and only had a small chance to play. A few quick shots with the only willing models:

Had another play today.
It is noticeably soft wide open when viewed at 100% but stopping down a bit removes that, and it's not a big problem.

Too true Pippen. The 70-300, be it Nikkor, Stigma or Tamron is a good lens if you know its limitations.
 I find as long as I stay at or above f8, I get acceptable results....If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
