didn't you mention earlier that after shooting with your D70s you surmised that it doesn't have the encryption?

Yes, the d70s apparently doesn't encrypt the files, but that was rather expected, because Nikon listed the cameras with encryption, in their April 22nd advisory, as being the d2x, d2hs and d50.

I'd have the d2x now too, if it weren't for the encryption...

They put in the encryption without telling their customers, which is dishonest, and then they lied about the reasons for the encryption, which is dishonest, because the only beneficiary to the encryption is Nikon, via Capture sales. Now, they won't address the issue, when their customers deserve to know if that is going to be a continuing Nikon policy. All of that is the type of dishonest, underhanded dealings that I'd expect from a common street thief.

And me too at the mini meet

I don't buy any of that, Birdy. The fact that there are dishonest people, is not a justification for dishonesty by Nikon or anyone else. I don't believe that you're dishonest and I seriously doubt that you're putting your fingers in people's pockets by devious and dishonest means.
