Birdy, the only thing that worries me about using clear plastic wrapper that you use on books is the adhesive when it comes time to change the protection cover. I can imagine it leaving a lovely guey mess all over the screen. Think I'll just stick to buying PDA protectors for both my PDA, iPod and my D70 when I get one.

That reminds me, need to get some to protect my new iPod

I lost my BM-4 cover very early on, and I've been using these clear screen protectors on the rear and top LCD on my D70. They're generic brand, and they've lasted this long without needing to reapply/change. I think they're a great alternative to leaving the D70 screen bare. But I do worry about what Kipper mentioned... I guess some rubbing alcohol should get rid of excess gum in any case.

While we are on the subject of LCD covers, does anyone have any problem with fogging? I do.
My LCD seems to fog up on the inside of the cover on the bottom left corner. Looks like I may have to learn not to breathe through my nose when I'm taking photos

Yes i have too, that why I recommend to use the LCD protector sheet and not loose your original plastic LCD protector.

Well this idea got the better of me & I went in search of some PDA screen covers.
It took two day’s & a heap of shops but I found them at Office Works here in Lismore made by Belkin.
So now I have them on every LCD screen in my kit, top & back screens on the D70, the screen on the SB-800 & the one on my PSD.

Thinking of doing the one on my mobile as well “I have a screen protector fetish ATM”

So far so good, I will see how they go over the test of time.

You've done well guy!!! that will last you at least 6 monhts to a year , unless you abuse it. Did you buy the Belkin pack of 12 sheet? and it's easy to tailor to the size you want isn't it? keep the LCD away, especially the LCD is not so good under the bright light in comparison with the LCD protector film.

Hope that will helps with the LCD cover!

I've bought the Belkin HP1910 series of PDA protectors for about $19.95 from Office Works for a pack of 12 today. Replaced the one on my HP1940 and did the LCD on the back of D70. Need to do the top screen now.

A few tips and tricks:

* Don't use metholated spirits to wash off any texta marks you made when templating the area to cut out. This reacts with the plastic and also the adhesive underneath and leaves a smudged look on the plastic.

* Ensure you don't get fingerprints on the adhesive otherwise kiss goodbye the sheet

* Don't use window cleaner on the LCD to clean it before applying the sheet. This will leave a crystalized like effect on the LCD. Something I found out with my PDA
