Our Xmas dinner meet at the restaurant.

Postby birddog114 on Sun Oct 31, 2004 6:47 pm

Hi All,
We're planning to have our Xmas dinner for members + the wifes (the wife will drive you home cos you'll be over the limit after) if it's possible, we can call that's a Xmas dinner meet.

Gary, we should ask for the date some where in December, the 2nd challenge will be ended by Nov. and we will have prizes for 3 best voted photo at the meet. we have to make a decision now otherwise we can't book the room cos Xmas party is every night starting next week and the restaurants will be fully booked, especially Fri/ Sat.

My ideas and recommendation:
( I used to entertained our clients and have our Xmas parties over the years at Hurstville, so I knew them very well, and guaranteed with you guy: the superb of foods that you'll discover).

- A very nice Chinese Restaurant at Hurstville/ 7 or 8 courses/ around $25.00 - $35.00/ head for food only. I'll provide exact cost and menu once we finalized.

(I'll support/ provide all beer & wine + bubblies for the night with my best collection of red and white in my cellar).

If anyone has other ideas about this Xmas dinner meet, please post your opinion, I hope and wish members from NSW countries same as interstate will participate and attend this event.

Thanks guy!!!!!!

Sounds great, although as you say, may be difficult to get a date we can all attend!

Hurstville sounds good - just around the corner :)

Birddog,

I like the idea of Hurstville, because it also means that we're moving around various parts of the city to help make things closer to all, one way or another.

Dates: Wednesdays are out for me, totally. Otherwise, I'm pretty well open. Maybe the first week or weekend in December?

What can we do around December 2, 3 or 4 ?

I would prefer a weeknight as there is a lot always happening round that time of year for me. With a little notice I am able to move round a weekend. If it was a weekend night Friday would suit me better than a Saturday.

I think we need to go with the majority as all may be busy with other functions.

Cheers,

Maybe but mine comes with added Baby :)

Friday night would be the best chance of us making it...

My sister is getting married on saturday the 13th so we will be up that weekend...

We leave for NZ on the 16th so anytime between 12 and 16th excluding the 13th would work for us... (no promises, insert baby caveats here)

Dad (Gary) can't go on December 3rd.

That's the opening night for the 3rd year Graduates Show for my Uni I have yet to tell him about.

He'll know now. :)

Ok, we have to make a date now otherwise we won't have enough time to organize.

First question for MHD:

- The second challenge will be end by Nov. so how many days do we require for voting? I can foresee the 2, 3, 4 is very little chance, cos we won't have the result by then.

Second question for all members:

- What's about the Friday 10th or Sat. 11th of December? and that's only two weeks to Xmas Eve.

Please post your opinion, so I can make the decision and get the ball rolls.

So,

Given that the earliest possible date (allowing for voting) would have been Dec 3, but I'm told I can't go then, that means Saturday Dec 4, or the following week/end - Thursday Dec 9, Fri Dec 10, or Sat Dec 11.

The weekend of the 9th-11th would be best for me - prefer the weekend, but Thursday night is ok (especially as it's my b/day - but don't tell anyone!).

I will be in Sydney in December - and would love to come and meet everyone. I will be available almost any time. May have plans on the 9th or 10th (30th Birthday is on the 9th).

We have 2 birthdays on the 9th.

While I think it would truly be great to celebrate on that date, subject to the participants being willing, but accepting that they may have other commitments (but who'd choose family over us?) I guess that the following evening wouldn't be too bad.

So ... I suspect that we've got this narrowed this down to Friday December 10 as the preferred date.

All dates are relatively ok for me except the weekend of 5-6th Dec as off bushwalking. One thought if we wanted to be a bit earlier we could always end the challenge one day early. Weekdays may eliminate conflicts as many Christmas parties are on Fridays

Hi All,
So we say the Friday 10th December, everyone agree? If this day is Ok then I'll find the place, I have on my list 3 restaurants that we normally entertained our customers and family members, they should honour my reservation, because I'll have another Xmas party for my Company also.
OK, we should do the roll call now:
WHO's in? and with the wife or partner or girl friend or boy friend?
Check-in please!!!!!
Please remember, we do need someone to take care the driving back home otherwise we have to use taxi, I'm sure we will be over the limit and I'll get the blame

Count me in for one.

My ship is supposed to be at sea that week but we will hopefully be back in on Friday sometime. Even if i have to get there directly from work i will try to be there :) I will happily pay in advance too. If i can't make it then it's out of my control, blame the Navy.

I do have a CDMA phone so i should be able to confirm some time that week to you by phone if i will be there. (CDMA will give me the extra range :) )

Hi MHD,
Try to be in cos you're the Challenge Organizer (CO) and perhaps you have to brief the attendees how's the challenge going and the final results.
And once again, I wish the final result will be announced at the Xmas dinner meet and from a sealed envelope, it will bring surprises to everyone in our community and make the meet more creatively with the Challenge No 2 Award. All the results will be posted late that night or early tomorrow morning on to our forum depends on how bad we will have after the drinks
How do ya think?
