Hi Alex,

Take it easy - fortunately, Nikon isn't going to implement Windows CE or PocketPC into the cameras :) Just supplying NEF format to M$

In a paranoid moment I wonder if this and the encryption of WB are related. Encrypt the WB and give/licence the code to Microsloth who then has a dominant position (for a change).

Cheers

That's could be their ways and intentions, I'm not too worry about, here or there we still have to live with.
Look at some large news agencies, they didn't bother either.

Not really fighting. I'd say them are disappointment words based on my experience and from that experience will be my conclusion that camera with Linux brains will be brainless camera. (Hint: I'm not M$ guy, I'm unix systems administrator and network engineer)

I can just see the owners manual for the *nix camera ...

1: Download the latest source from http://whereever

2: Update your tools from .....

3: Check that all your dependancies have been resolved.

4: Make Cam

5: If that failed, visit .... for help ...

Gary,

Completely agree! And this applies to my favorite FreeBSD as well

Everything has own place, platform and area of usage.

Nikon does perfect job and embeded software in the cameras just perfect (as something may be perfect in the modern world)
