Chinatown Photo walkI went out with a flickr group into china town recently and had an excellent and productive photo walk. I even was confronted by a couple of addicts that threatened to crush me. I actually have quite a few keepers, so I'll post my two best and submit the link to whoever wants to check them out. This is basically my first foree into the urban setting, which I'm quite excited about as I've gotten alot of Nature stuff for the last year and a half or so.
I find this picture really interesting, and was drawn to thet cloud streak, creating dept. I was able to salvage foreground detail thanks to RAW. With the sun directly on me exposure was a nightmare. I composed and this fellow walked through so i quickly snapped. Would have made one hell of a decisive moment, but I'd rather go for pic of the week as the comp doesn't win me anything anyway. Here's a link to the set. I promise there are some goodies in there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/elton/sets/416191/ Dee you should definitely come out with us sometime.
Hi Dave, i like these shots i think the B&W does suit these pics, and well if you had fun thats good on your outing.

Dave. These are good. The first one has an apocalyptic feel to it and the second looks like a murder scene with a body lurking somewhere (I must watch too many TV crime shows )
Should have taken a pick while you were being hassled by the addicts - could have been your decisive moment - although having read the narrative maybe not Going by the comments of others I think I'd not be putting this on my photo whistle stop tour of Vancouver! I also like cup and alley Granville - again great use of your B &W CF card Peter

Dave,
I like these a lot, especially the BW ones - they portray a feeling of urban decay. The 1st one you posted here is a beauty - the woman looking over her shoulder adds real interest to the photo..it makes me wonder what has caught her attention. Well done. I really like these. The first one looks like it could be a still from the set of the "War of the Worlds" film. he second one is the pick of the two though. The angle is great. I am wating to see what happens next. A lot of suspense in that image. Well done
Totally awesome photos. Superb PJ type stuff.

I know, wasn't sure what to do with that. Reminded me of the first 007 nintendo game faces of the enemy. Perhaps I should erase his face and call it mystery.
