Cost $35.00/ head Any ideas/ comment or does any attendee has any type of allergy of above dishes. Birddog114

Umm. This question has to be asked I guess. So I will ask it. Is there to be an official photographer for the evening?
I am not sure it would be a good idea for everyone to bring along their gear to such an event but maybe two of the experienced forum members might do a tandem job? Any ideas from members in this situation? In the end we know Nothing, but in the meantime Learn like crazy.

What I think, we should not bring our gears with us at that night, too many bags and stuff laying around are not good ideas and you have to keep your eyes on your property. Let someone does the volunteer of the digitographer for the events and sharing pics with other and I would like to ask someone willing to be a minute takers so we can have a report to the forum later on the meet report section. For photo of the night, we may compile and put onto the CD or DVD and post to all attendees as memory, I'll take care of copying CD or DVD of the album of that evening and posting to all attendees after. Here's another ideas: For the last challenge winning photo, I would like to print it on number of A3s size photos with signature of MHD and pass to each present member (not partner) one copy at that night for Xmas present. If this ideas is OK, then I need help from Matt or someone can use my Epson 2100 to produce those photos. What's your ideas? Birddog114

Great menu - wish I could come!
I think the live barramundi might be a bit hard to eat while they jump aound on your plates. A decent whack with a Canon lens should quieten them down a bit though! Did I say it was a great menu? You have excelled again Birdy. The tryanny of distance is a curse.
you've done it again!Looks fantastic Birdy - I'd be more than happy to offer to be the 'official' photographer but I don't know if my 'standard' is up to scratch? IF there is someone else willing I'm happy for them to take over but at the same time I'd love to give it a go..bearing in mind I only have the kit lens which would be more appropriate than my other only 70-300 lens. Birdy - the menu looks fantastic and I for one, can't wait for the event. You're brilliant, and if there is ANYTHING I can do to help, please PM me and I'll do what I can! Cheers,
Geoff.
Well done Birddog, great menu and value. I am more than happy to help with printing Birddog, but really no idea on your machine. Maybe if Matt did a test print first one day and I copied? Geoff, you are more than welcome to borrow my 85mm or 50mm.
Anyone is to be the photogs covers the evening, I'm happy to bring along my 12-24 and 85/1.4, just let me know.

It would need to be a decent telephoto though. Anything less would be too light, methinks. g.

Geoff,
We can share those duties if you like. Give the 800s a bit of a workout too. g.

There's only 15 members + 6 partners (wife/ fiance/ girlfriend) So only 15 prints, Matt can do it on one Saturday. For Matt.K Hi Matt, please let me know when can we do it? I have the file from MHD already. Birddog114

I'm bummed that I can't make the party, you are all going to have a great time.
Oh well if you organise another meet at the party let me know where and when. Have fun all.... W00DY Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
I'm looking forward to this feast! I can't believe Birddog "test drove" the place with his family in preparation for us.
Anyone know of a place in Syd to rent a Canon long tele for Barra whacking purposes? I'll raise my hand as volunteer photog for the evening. I'm sure I'll have to bring back something belonging to Birddog on the night, so might as well include my camera.
My wife just read the menu over my shoulder and is she excited!!
The more I read in this Forum, the more impressed I become....if this is what the group can produce for a Xmas celebration, think what could be achieved for more serious events. Can't wait to see you there joet
At a pinch, we could use my 70-300 G.
Ok ... that's you and Geoff ... and I can be the art director. I'll coordinate this with both of you as the event draws nearer. g.

As long as we are neat and in the middle

Neat and in the middle is only for masters! It is the most difficult of all compositional constructions. Within its simplicity lurks its complexity. Zen, and the art of photographic composition is not for the light-hearted...nor is "neat and in the middle". The skills are handed down from master to student, only after a lifetime of dedication and karate like repetition of the basics will you gain the insight and skill of that which is "neat and in the middle".
Lesson ends. Regards
Matt. K
That would be greatThanks Gary
