Looking for a fixed lens micro-camera that rivals the D70...Well only in low ISO, fixed subjects etc etc....check out this review from Ken Rockwell on his latest toy.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/casio/exz750.htm
After reading the review, you'd think the cam makes his coffee in the morning too.
If you look at his comparison shots though, the casio pic has lots of chromatic abberation, is over-sharpened (in-cam), lacks color depth, is over-exposed and doesn't hold near as much detail (look at the bricks). That said, it's a good shot for a point and shoot, but NOWHERE NEAR the quality of the D70's shot. Maybe casio gave it to him for free -Rich D70, 18-70 DX, Sigma 70-300 APOII, Nikkor 50mm 1.4D, SB800, Bogen 3046 w/Manfrotto 322RC2 ballhead, Lowepro Nova 2 AW
I thought the most interesting bit of his Casio review was when he wrote words to the effect of " I actually own one of these, so this will be a detailed review" That in itself was headline news " Ken Reviews a Product He's Actually Touched" If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
Hell, I'll settle for "Ken Reviews a Product He's Actually Seen" Who says men can't be bitchy Peter

Just read it and I was quite surprised... It sounds more like an ad than a review! After reading it, one would think this is THE perfect camera because the reviewer doesn't bring any defaults. As someone mentioned above, maybe Ken got one or two cameras for free...
If somebody in this forum has the opportunity to play with this camera, I'd still be interested to know what it's worth. Link.

I've not seen that specific model, however I've had the opportunity to touch and play with a few other Exilim models in HKSupplies' offices previously. Casio isn't exactly known for their cameras, however the big LCD display and absolute thinness are their unique selling points IMO. Canon's ISUX or Sony T series models are the closest competitors.
Having been spoilt by DSLR image quality, I honestly can't agree with a P&S matching or even coming close to it - muddy colours, noise, severe chromatic abberation, depth of field limitations, etc. Keeping in mind, Ken's previous P&S camera was the A70 - which he previously lauded as the bee's knees as well. Despite now saying it's slow as hell (which, having used Canon cameras I agree with).
I found that his review would be really misleading to the average reader.
It sort of bothered me that he kept throwing out phrases like "compared to a 5k D2x! as if someone was going to get 1/5th the camera of a D2x with that little thing. Honestly, they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath. Maybe Casio is giving him comission on units sold through his website or something. That review didn't look very good on him. Too much fallacy.
His review is not worth with me either. He wants to do the marketting this camera for Casio, perhaps.

Hmm looks "okay" for a P&S or PHD camera for it's size, what concerns me (apart from the scary price! ) is that it has no RAW format available, even my now dead 3 year old Minolta DimageX had TIFF available.
It's bizzare how he can compare the image sensor size to a DSLR image sensor when he bags it out on another page. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/2dig.htm Nikon F80D, FM2n

The review hasn't sold me at all. After using the D70 for indoor shots awesome , where my current P&S has falied me. Canon P&S are getting some good reviews among my friends that have them and never had problem.

Hi Catcha,
Still deciding between the Fuji F10 / Ricoh GX8. So far teh reviews on the F10 is great, pics at high iso are very good. Will probably get the F10 since I have been a fuji user. and I love the colour.
Guys what about the Nikon s1 ?, I bought one for my fiancee and love the quick response and picture quality, not to mention a cool design!!!...
