looking for something smallerI'm looking at getting a little compact camera that I can take mountain Biking and Snowboarding etc. I figure it might as well have a good macro function as D70 doesn't really have one. I don't really care about pixel count (3-5 is fine). I want to spend about 2-400 canadian. Any recommendations? (All of my night and low light stuff will be taken care of by the D70.)
I'd be looking at the Nikon 3xxx and 4xxx series, and the Canon equivalents of them. a couple of the Canons might be particularly attractive because of their smaller sizes, but I think that a couple of the Nikons might have better macro capabilities.

I have been looking for the same thing for a friend. The price range limits your options somewhat but you should be able to get something OK. You might want to think about whether you want a camera that will also use a CF card so that you can use the cards you already have. Also look at batteries - do you want one that has a generic battery or one that will use AAs (you will probably need rechargeables). These could help you narrow down your options.
