Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

This guy was lying down, looking very sleepy so I got down low and close (kit lens) to take a shot at his eye level. He was clearly not happy about seeing a low crouching intruder poking a D70 in his face, so he got up and was about to teach me a serious lesson about encroaching on his personal space.

Take a look at those muscles. He was about to inflict some serious damage.

Who needs a telephoto when you can run fast. Though, since this, I've decided to save for a longer lens.

Comments most welcome.

Wow, reminds me of the time I was fishing at dusk up at Kyneton on one of the reservoirs up there. Heard a rustling and snapping of twigs and think to myself it's another fisherman. Turn around and there is a 6-7ft monster red about 5m away. I just looked at him, he looked at me and he hopped off.

Piro, btw did you mean Canon-ga-roo?

I don't know about that. Probably a case of not thinking thru potential consequences.

These blighters are all over Woolgoolga golf course, hundreds of 'em, they don't even move if you hit one with a ball, you have to gently prod them to get out of the way...

Nice shot by the way, they are impressive creatures are our 'roos.

John that is a great shot of the old fellow, i know my dog would love him. When i was driving coaches i used to visit Zumsteins in the Grampians of Victoria where these fellows road around all day waiting for visitors to come and see the place and eat. I seen one get inside of a car oneday looking for a feed as the people left there doors open and seen them take food out of peoples hands, well you get that when you feed them.
Anyhow good shot and and yeh bet he can run faster!!!

Great shot John, love the composition, and the colours in the shot are great too, all that soft brown/green. And geez, he looks cranky!

Thanks Kerry.

I printed the pic last night and it didn't come out too well. I think I need to calibrate my monitor and try again.
