Kerry,
The one I like the most is the 'rose' - truly superb sharpness and saturation. Also to take this handheld is amazing. I would need to drink a 1/4 of a bottle of Scotch to do that. That is why I use a tripod when doing macro. BTW: how is the D70s travelling Better than the D70 If so, what are the noticeable differences As you can see I want to get value for money out of this post fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Kerry - I would love to see a pic from you that is absolute crap - but I don’t think that is going to happen - love em all

Kerry - the rose shot is a classic. Please tell me you didn't cheat and spray it to get the droplet effect The first bee shot is also amazing which great DOF thanks to excellent hand held technique and an obliging bee.

Thanks for the kind comments, Fozzie. I don't think the d70s is any better, at least of any significance that I've noticed, than the d70. After I got the camera settings the way I wanted them, both cameras shoot the same, AFAICT. I did load the v2 firmware on the d70, before the d70s arrived, so the menus look the same. Keep in mind that I haven't set them up for identical shots, to test for any differences. I haven't even shot both cameras with the same lens, at least recently, nor have I shot both of them in a short time frame. my gallery of so-so photos

Thanks for all the kind remarks, guys!
Ben: I too, like the rose best. Nicole: I'm very pleased with the flying bee shot. IIRC, it's my first successful attempt.
I've got tons of pics that are absolute crap. But, you're right, you'll never see them.......
Cheat? Cheat??? What does this, cheat, mean in photography? I don't recall if I sprayed for this particular shot or not. A lot of my shots have the water drops from the automatic sprinkler systems of the home next door or from the normal watering of the neighbor lady across the street. I have also been known to carry a spray bottle full of water. my gallery of so-so photos

Kerry
Magic natural colour in the rose.Stuning. Your images are tack sharp and the bee is a difficult subject but you tagged it. Good photography. Love looking at this stuff. Regards
Matt. K
Thanks, Kristine. The rose is basically straight out of the cam. IIRC, Post P was just a resize and a light sharpen with USM. Johnd and Matt: Thank you very much for your kind compliments. I appreciate them very much. my gallery of so-so photos
