Application to join D70users Duck Club...Actually, perhaps I should only apply for associate membership as my duck only has one leg
Today we went down to Symbio Wildlife Park at Stanwell Park, just south of Sydney. I have a few more to post over the next few days. Last night I uploaded the new sReala curve into the D70 and I must say I'm not that impressed with it. This photo took a lot more PP work compared to Fotogenics 4.0 that I was using before. It looks basically a minor tweak over the D70 "normal" curve. Anyway "Le Canard": If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
John,
Your application has been granted Can we put them on the table for the next mini meet? Birddog114

Nice picks John. I'm not sure if it was the new curve but something left some 'artifacts' on the top of that stump....

Like the first one best. Great detail in the feathers. Your photoshop technique is awesome, you'd never know the other leg had been cloned out Peter

johndec,
Nice duck shot. IMHO: only good duck is a dead one, on a serving tray or plate asian style. I have just read the condition for joining the D70 Duck Club, and is has to have two (2) legs, not one (1) Therefore your entry has been rejected Cheers, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
John - Le Canard is a very nice shot.
Fozzie - be careful, you may wake up one morning with a duck leg on your pillow Chris

I like Le Canard. Better alive where the value lives on, than on a plate - blimey, I sound like a vego greeny!! I have never liked duck meat much anyway.
Just a quick Q. Is that the normal feather pattern on the RHS of the bird where the grey meets the white of the wing? . Cheers Matt
A good question Matt. I've just blown up the original NEF to 100% and it shows the same pattern in the feathers. Seeing as it was pretty much in the "sweet spot" of the lens (24-120VR), I think we can discount CA as well as oversharpening.. Of course, if the D70 had a decent viewfinder I would have noticed it before I took the pic.... Sorry, I love my camera, just hate it's viewfinder. Look through a D2H or D2X and you will know what I mean If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
