Interesting. DxO Optics is very similar, but is a standalone program and costs about 10 times the price of this - you pay for the camera and EACH lens correction module separately (and when I tried, unsuccessfully, to buy it they couldn't take my Mastercard because of problems with their fulfillment processing house!).

For once you Mac guys have the advantage over us windoze people

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but if there are any users of DxO Optics Pro out there, I thought that you might like to know that they've announced a less restricted pricing structure for their lens correction modules...

As from Oct 4th, existing owners of one or more modules will get access to all the modules for free...

I got that email too John. This now makes DxO a very competitive product. US$149 for the package and all the lens modules. I bought it first thing this morning (and they accepted my credit card this time)

first post...saw this thread whilst lurking..

I use PTLens , it works very well and is free (if you can live with the 10 second waiting time for fixing - or pay for the manual @ 5 USD).

I have the slightly older version which has no waiting count.

It's only for windows though.

I second PT lens. It's free, does a good job and is also useful for white balance correction if you are shooting jpeg.

i dont have a photo to test but photoshop cs2 has lens correction filter under distort.

edited to add:
i haven't used this filter. ive used distort tool (under transform) a lot to place simulated images on device ie handhelds. i think you should be able to achieve same results with distort tool. if you're pasting into like me, set transparency to 50 or something like that and start with one corner while distorting to fit the dimensions.

maybe lens correction filter might offer better result. ill have to try it out.
