fozzie,
Is this the plane you're flying with to the AA? and it seems to me you're in love with the AF-S 300 + TC. Good combo.

I was at a spot near the airport on Saturday and to get a shot like that would have required you to use a wideangle lens(The planes where that low off the ground an came at you from head on). The only difference was they were landing :D

With that lens and TC, I'm sure it was at high, perhaps he cropped it, am I correct fozzie?

A few dust bunnies there Fozzie.

Love the shot. Improvements? Maybe some fiddling with shadow/highlight adjustment to bring out the underbody detail?

I would have liked to have been closer. Unfortunately at the movement with the new International/Intertsate Terminal (all with air bridges at last) being built, completion around end October/early November the place is hectic with tradespersons. What you experienced on Saturday is what I am looking for. Plus today they were taking off into a strong SW breeze, so take off was very short and as a consequence harder to get closeup shots. BTW: when do you get your D2x :?:

Cheers,
fozzie

Yes it was cropped.

Focal length was 500mm.

Those darn dust bunnies. Looks like I will be doing a CCD cleaning DIY at 'AW'. Matt K. did my camera at Easter, but I was distracted during the process

Thank you for your hints, I will investigate.

Use your Giotto to do the dry blow first, don't leave them get stuck on the CCD in humidity.

I will use the Giotto again, tonight or tomorrow. BTW: Adelaide rarely suffers from humidity. If we do, it is Summer months.

But, thank you for your advice.

Cheers,
fozzie
