Both shots look pretty good to me, Ben. :) The yellows seem a little too yellow for sunsets around here though, like the WB is a little off. Ours tend to be a little more gold, orange or red.

Ben

The one of the blocks at the baths (Newcastle or Merewether?) does seem to have a yellow cast - but otherwise is fine. For the first one I'd up the red - maybe apply a graduated orange filter - otherwise also a good shot. Are these the same rocks featured from the other side in one of your other posts?

Thanks for your comments.

Kerry, i think we have the same sun, the cast is probably my PP skills.

Stubbsy, very observant, they are the same rocks i think. Taken on the same day. Still trying to master the WB/color cast/PP thing.

heh, yes we have the same sun, but perhaps not the same air quality. Moisture, dust, pollution and temps will change the colors a great deal. A lot of the colors we see here are from the pollution and humidity. Having never been down under, I have no idea what would be considered the norm for any particular area there. :)

Pollution has improved a fair bit since they shut down the local steelworks. If I can ever work out what it was I was doing I will certainly keep doing it. Maybe evewn tomorrow morning...now were is that alarm clock?

Hi Ben,

it is pretty cool on the beach here at Redhead in the morning, especially when the westerly is blowing, like it was this morning, better rug up good if you find that alarm clock ;-)

Certainly loved that top one, never get tired of pictures of the Redhead cliff.

Cheers,

André

The second image of the blocks is great. Maybe turn down the yellow cast a bit bit as people have mentioned.

Kerry, it would be sunrise on the east coast of Australia not sunset (if that makes a difference?) BTW Ben great shots both of them. As someone mentioned postcard stuff...good effort!

Ben, my only advice would be enlage 'em, frame 'em and stick the up on the wall - fantastic stuff!

gotta say i'm so envious os you oz based folks - not saying you dont have to work at it but, back here in Blighty the weather just does not profer as much opportunity for this type of shot as you guys get

They are both terrific but the second one really grabs me.

What shutter speed did you use there?
