An excellent photographer was invited for dinner by an acquaintance. Looking through some of the artists' work, the host remarked, "These pictures are beautiful! You must have a marvelous camera!" To which the photographer replied, "This soufflé is delicious. You must have really nice pots and pans."

Am fast coming to the conclusion that the D70 wasn't designed for superior b&w photography... oh well... back to the souffle pan.

Yep... starting to get the thought processes in action... tried to get a little prompt by finding something I liked on the web to emulate (but still be original cause otherwise I reckon that's cheating) but you know what? can't find a damn thing I'd vote for myself !!!
I do have a couple of ideas that would be great but wrong time of year for both of 'em.

Oh well... that what makes a challenge so...mmm... challenging of course !!!

MJ - B&W photography is all about contrast, and maximising it. Try using the high contrast tone setting, or a custom high contrast curve.

I read somewhere that for a B&W image to work successfully, it has 1 region of pure white, 1 region of pure black, and the rest shades of grey.

The above are easier said than done. I know I'm lacking inspiration and subject for the challenge #2 entry. :)
