New to D70 Forums

Postby WadeM on Tue Jun 28, 2005 10:49 pm

Hi guys,

Just found the forum through a guy I work with (who reads but doesn't post).

I thought I'd just say hello before I start poking around and posting elsewhere. I did a search for an introductions thread, but couldn't find one. Forgive me if it's about and I messed my first post.

Anyhow, a bit about me.

My Name's Wade, I'm 22, live in Sydney (Cronulla), work in IT by day and DJ sometimes by night.

I got a D70 in December `04, which I now use instead of my F55. I've been shooting on and off since 1997, but still have lots to learn. I love the D70 it rules.

(edit)My kit is small but growing. Got the Kit Lens and currently the 80-300 F3-4.5G(I didn't 'need' a $2k lens, which I now want :P). Within a month I plan to get the 50mm F/1.4d ( I think hksupplies might get a buyer out of me after reading here :P)

I've got a photoblog which I update sometimes, the link to it can be found in my profile.

Once again, thought I'd say hi, this place looks fantastic (with all you guys!), and I hope this is the right place for the thread!

Cheers,
Wade aka Wade M

I feel I've got many late nights ahead of me reading on here. :)

I've looked/poked around on other photography forums, none of them seem to have the amount of quality content/users that this forum does.

Add to that, most of you are Ozzies, which is really Odd for a site on the internet. I may even get to a meetup one day :)

Very glad I'm here :) Thanks for the welcomes. I hope you don't get sick of me, I won't be leaving anytime soon :p

MCWB: I'm pretty sure I will. Just want to feel a bit more @ home here first. I'm always interested in learning more so am sure that will spur me to get down to one sooner rather then later.

The 'sometimes' found in clubs was due to me playing out twice this year. I play minimal techno/tech house/acid mostly. I play under the name of Way McMillin. I've got some sets floating around on the net still I'm pretty sure. PM me if you're interested. I've taken quiet a few club shots (before my D70)...

As one newbie to another (as you said) - Hi !!!!

I'm certainly interested in the mini meets - as I can get an idea of what other people see and how they capture that on their cams

Welcome Wade, and thanks for the comprehensive introduction. We get so few of those and it does make us feel as if we already know you. Look forward to your participation/posts, and maybe meeting you at a minimeet. You will learn heaps and maybe we will learn something from you....no academic fees required. Enjoy.
Regards

Thanks to you all :)

(would there be any merit in an introductions sticky if you get so many of these? I know most forums I read have an introductions thread or forum that newbies post in).
