Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Manual 1/500 f5.6. Flash used. Handheld. Picture slightly cropped as the subject is quite far away.

Arthur, your bird pics are bloody great mate and that is 1 nice looking bird.
I notice the other pic of this bird in other post as i did not coment yet as i had a photo order come in while looking at it and got distracted.Anyhow i know you used the flash so i gather this bird was not a long way away? I have not tried this so it looked great anyhow.
Well done.
Cheers
John

Stark...(not the Gary Stark), and beautiful. Simple in a Zen kind of way. Well shot. You are a skillful photographer.

Arthur

This is great and really has impact for me because of the consistent tonings - all muted blue & greys. Wonderful stuff.

I love this shot Arthur.
Great soft blue and grey colours. Good looking bird in an expressive pose.
Only thing I notice is that the pole is not vertical - was that the way it was? I don't think it needs correcting - it doesn't seem to detract from a great image.

Hi

Thanks for all your kind comments and feedback.

Yes, Andrew, we had a great time. It was very tiring too. Still not used to driving there and back. Did 3 wrong turns and thank goodness for street directory.

Yes, the pole was actually slanted. Will try to see if it looks better straighten. Several people have suggested that.

The picture is slightly underexposed. I did that deliberately so that I can keep the background as it is.

Arthur

Hi Mic,

we went to Serendip and was tricked. one was a cardboard of a crane and another of a pair of parrot. at first i thought they were real. no amount of chips will help.
