For my first post...I thought I'd throw up a picture of my son taken in my mother in laws kitchen. Behind him is a black refrigerator which is why the background is completely dark.
I used the kit lens and an SB800 flash.
Excellent 1st post... Good shot, well lit and the eyes are perfectly focused, highlights are well under control.. excellent capture.. the only slight detraction is the composition, its good but it would have been a more engaging photo if you got down to his eye level..
What was the lens and exposure? Last edited by Atorie on Fri Jul 08, 2005 3:03 am, edited 2 times in total.

Welcome and great first post!
I'm not quite fussed that the angle wasn't brought down to his height...wonder what he was thinking? "There're treats in this fridge and I have to sit in front of it while dad takes a photo....*grumble*"
Thanks for the replies!
Atorie: I used the kit lens (Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 ED ) Manual Mode 1/60s f-4.5 ISO 200 Flash bounced off ceiling PiroStitch: I don't know what's going through his mind, but you can bet its mischief! He's probably thinking up new ways to irritate the dog!
Very nice shot and perfect exposure, he is certainly thinking of something

Great first post. Very crisp and I like the composition. Sorta makes it feel more like a candid moment with the subject pondering on something, rather than a posed portrait.
Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
Very nice shot. Sharp, with good DOF and bright exposure that pops nicely.
