In fact, he was given his own one as his 21st birthday present. Now there's no excuse for my settings being screwed up, except that I did it myself.

Congratulations Leigh :D

Now that dad's given you the keys to a D70 now - you'll have to watch him like a hawk lest he goes around changing your settings while you aren't looking!

All the best, have a terrific day and take it easy during the celebrations huh!!

Cheers

When I was 21, we just received an electronic calculator at work, the manager wanted to know how we could be sure it gave the right answers.

Colour TV was still a year or two away.

A d70 would have been quite something, although computers required a huge space, temperature +or- a poofteenth of a degree, and probably had less computing power than than a kid's toy.

Cool. I get to celebratre again when I hit 42.. another good number... and I already had the keys to Cubicle No. 42... I'm a bit drunk at the moment... well.. more tipsy... but while I';m like this, less will make sense than normal.. so blah.

Cheers and thanks and :) for everyone that's wished me happy birthday including dad who announced it over the forum. :)

It now strikes me as something we'll have to add to the forum... some things that will single out every birthday person and issue a new lens to them... and if we cant do that, we can at least point them out and go "Yep.. it's their birthday" by printing their name and age (might be a worry...) on the front page... Just a thought... I am tipsy.....*crash*

This is what I got out of that:

"...dad.. announced ... over the forum... we'll have to ... issue a new lens to them (birthday people)... and ... point them out and go ..... tipsy.....*crash*."

:) take care mate and enjoy :)

I was all liquored up... and it'll probably stay that way for the next week... what with assessments and play rehearsal and getting over being 21... I wouldn't expect me to make sense when I'm all liquored up... Hell, I wouldn't expect me to make sense when I'm not.
