50mm f/1.4d shots
A guy I work with has basically given me his f/1.4d. I put my first round through it in the afternoon on Saturday.

#1 is ho hum - can't really put my finger on why. #2 - Great - I love shots like this lots of nice crisp lines & good colour. #3 is also good. It's a really neat lens - you have a good mate. Peter

#1 needs the point of focus ranged left or right or cropped to a vertical...... then it should have more interest bp Cheers ....bp....

1st image - not very interesting, I'd suggest next time with a plain and boring subject such as a sticker on a pole, try working from an angle or compose the pole to the side and have a nice blurred background behind it to create the DOF. 2nd image - Mmmm patterns 
3rd image - Don't you love the low fstop
I wasn't too sure on #1 either. I like taking photos of such things, but struggle to frame them well. Thanks for the tips PS & bp!
I love f/1.4 already  I'm going to go for a shoot in the city if it doesn't rain all week. It's such a small setup.
To get his lens, I let him borrow my D70 for 2 weeks a few months ago... (Thanks for the general comments on the other photos too  )
