Geoff - the little one looks real happy and it is a very nicely captured pic. My one piece of advice would be to give it a little more contrast to increase the punch

I agree with your comments, but the image appears much 'flatter' when viewing on the forum than it does when viewing in its original location on my PC. Anybody have any suggestion as to why this could be?
Geoff
This is a quick and dirty curves adjustment - still not correct but with more punch than the posted version - hope you don’t mind Chris

Geoff - it could be that your monitor needs calibrating as the image did appear to be a little better on my monitor when dragged from the thread to my desktop.

Chris, can you tell us basically what you did with the curves to punch up the pic?? The original looked quite dark to me, so did you bring up the midtones at all (~128 on the curve)??
Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
I locked the midpoint in the curves dialog and then played with the 1/4 and 3/4 points one going down and the other up - not sure which was which - hope this helps Chris

Hmmmm.
Maybe this lends credibility to the comments that some people make that the D70 doesnt actually underexpose, more that the way it deals with contrast leads to photos 'looking' underexposed. Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
Hmmm. I had a go as well. Locked the midpoint, dropped at 1/4 and raised at 3/4. Ended up with something similar, but had to raise the brightness as well to get a similar looking pic
By the way Geoff, nice pic! Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
