HELP! - batch processingHello folks, i took a around 100 shots a a friends birthday do at weekend. i'd like to upload them to somewhere like pixpot and let them have the link.
What i dont know (cant work out !) is how to resize them as a batch (whilst maintaining a full size file on the drive) and then upload them as a batch to the site - any pointers please. resizing is for ease of upload / download, the idea being they can ask me for the full size file if they want it... i have PCS2, freeware called irfanview and JASC paintshop pro at my disposal. all help gratefully received. Chris
I'm going to presume the images are already in jpeg. If not, make them jpegs.
If you're using irfanview, open up the folder to view the thumbnails. Double click on one of the images to open up the full view then hit B. Thsi will open up the batch processing window. Select the destination folder and click on Advanced options. Here you can specify the resize dimensions. I personally go for shortest side 600px and 72 dpi. That's mainly what you'll need for web presentation. Click OK. Click options and set jpeg to around 80 + progressive jpeg. Click Ok and Start. Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone
Come follow the rabbit hole...
Re: HELP! - batch processing
If nothing works, try webshots.com. Download and install. Follow the prompt to select the files or folders to upload. The software do all the rest automatically, upload and resize. You can make it public (for all) or private (only those invite by email can access). regards, Arthur
I've been using Preview Extractor which is much faster than the Nikon software. Happy so far with the performance!
